UH's Alexander, Lang Named to All-Big West Preseason Team
'Bows Projected to Finish 2nd
University of Hawaii women's basketball players Kallin Alexander and Lily Lang were named to the All-Big West Preseason Team, the conference announced Tuesday.
Alexander, a 6-foot-3 center, averaged 12.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game last season. She was named to the All-Big West Second Team and the All-Big West Defensive Team.
Lang, a 5-foot-11 guard, averaged 10.8 points and 4.5 assists per game last season. She was named to the All-Big West Honorable Mention Team.
The Rainbow Wahine were picked to finish second in the Big West Preseason Poll, behind UC Davis.
UH is coming off a 17-11 season, including a 10-6 mark in the Big West. The Rainbow Wahine reached the semifinals of the Big West Tournament, where they lost to UC Davis.
Alexander and Lang are two of the key players for the Rainbow Wahine this season. Alexander is a force in the paint, while Lang is a versatile guard who can score and distribute the ball.
The Rainbow Wahine open their season on Nov. 7 against Southern Utah.
