The Memphis Redbirds swept the Omaha Storm Chasers in a Thursday doubleheader, winning 9-4 and 6-3 at AutoZone Park.
The Redbirds took the first game 9-4 behind a strong performance from starter Johan Oviedo. Oviedo allowed just two runs on four hits in five innings of work, striking out eight batters. The Redbirds offense was led by Lars Nootbaar, who went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.
The Redbirds won the second game 6-3 thanks to a three-run home run by Nolan Gorman in the fourth inning. Starter Matthew Liberatore allowed three runs on five hits in five innings of work, striking out six batters.
