'Gladiator' Joshua weighs in heavier than Dubois
Joshua hints that he might start retiring after Dubois fight
Former two-time unified world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua weighed in heavier than his opponent Daniel Dubois for Saturday's fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Joshua stepped on the scales at 244.8 pounds, while Dubois came in at 235.5 pounds. It is the heaviest Joshua has weighed for a fight since he weighed 247.5 pounds for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk last August.
Joshua predicts a mid round stoppage win
Joshua is the heavy favorite to beat Dubois, who is 15 years his junior and has never fought at world level before. However, Dubois is a highly-rated prospect and has been tipped to be a future world champion.
Joshua said he expects to stop Dubois in the middle rounds of the fight.
"I'm not looking to go the distance," Joshua said. "I'm looking to get him out of there as quickly as possible."
Dubois said he is not intimidated by Joshua's size or experience.
"I'm here to win," Dubois said. "I'm not here to make up the numbers.
The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds, but Joshua said he does not expect it to go the distance.
"I'm going to put on a show," Joshua said. "I'm going to give the fans what they want."
